The purpose of this blog is to chronicle my progress through the Doctor of Science in Information Systems and Communications at Robert Morris University. The program is fast-paced and over 80% of students who start the program finish it in 3 years. The overall completion rate is over 90%.

I am 3 ½ months away from the start of classes and the program, however I am about 7 months into the journey. It started shortly after I finished my master’s degree in information science in September of 2009. I received some information in the mail from R.M.U on their graduate programs. Reading through it I found they had a doctorate program that could be completed while still working full time. Out of curiosity I filled out the reply card and asked for more information. In November I went to an informational seminar and in December I attended an on-campus event. It was the on campus event that really got me interested in the program. I applied at the end of December, had an interview and was accepted in late March.

That is the short story, the application processes was more involved than that and will be the subject for my next post.
